Cultivars & Quantities

Each listing is for 1 tuber, unless specified as a Bulk or Bundle listing.

Tubers are not pretty!  Some long, short, pudgy, skinny, wrinkles, root hairs, peeling, lenticel traces, cut off ends, smooth, twisted due to other tuber growth so close by, a bit squishy, firm, etc.  We handle every tuber with care.  Some will have a trace of sulfur powder or dirt on the surface of the tubers - you will find this may accentuate the look of tuber skin texture.

All of these things are quite normal.  If you ask 10 people how they plant, grow, divide, and store dahlia tubers, you will get 50 different answers.  In our experience, we successfully plant, grow, divide, and store dahlias and will provide you with product that are normal, and we'd plant ourselves.  If you have a vision of what a tuber should look like in order to grow and does not contain any of the realities above, don't purchase from us.



Shipping, Handling, Pick Up

Shipping & Handling
Shipping will begin starting in March, weather permitting, and will complete in April.  If for any reason you cannot accept your package between March 20 - April 20, please send an email alerting us to your needs.  Shipping rates are based on USPS pricing.
--At checkout, ensure you enter your address first.  This will assist the shipping option (ship or pick up) to populate correctly. 
1-6 Tubers = $14
7-10 Tubers = $19
11+ Tubers = $25
(Note that these are very reasonable.  A medium flat rate USPS box is currently $22.95)

Pick Up
Pick up available only in Alsip, IL or Kalona, IA.  A date/time will be scheduled.  All abandoned pick ups will be restocked and no refund will be applied as this is a courtesy that takes longer to organize for customers opting out of shipping.   All tuber pick ups must be retrieved by April 30.  Just select pick up at checkout after entering your address.

Packaging
Open your delivery and inspect the tubers immediately.  Ensure the quantity and varieties purchased is correct.  If there is an error, you have the 24-hour period to contact us, following delivery. We take photos of the items we send to each customer. Send along a photo of what you received.  If there is indeed an error, we will correct the order by refunding for the missing varieties or mail you the correct item(s).

Loss or Damage During Shipping
All dahlia tuber orders will be shipped via USPS priority mail that includes up to $100 insurance through USPS. Please inspect your order within 24 hours of delivery.  We do not offer automatic replacements or refunds for lost/damaged.  Please complete a shipping claim form via USPS. After the 24-hour period, all sales are final. 



Disease

Is this gall?...If I had a dollar for every time I saw this question in a Facebook group (lol).  Let's face it.  It's commonly known that a majority of dahlias live with a dormant virus. We strive to grow beautiful, healthy plants - doing our part to suppress any issues.  Any oddities are culled.  The moment you see any issues with leaves, don't jump to disease conclusions.  You may just have a bug, spider mite, aphid issue, etc.  We go to great lengths and added time to sanitize cutting tools between use on every plant both in the gardens and during dividing each clump of tubers.  We do not host u-picks where tool sanitization could be an added issue.



Conduct Policy

  1. Because I've seen it on social media groups, focused towards other growers, I cringe at what I am about to say but must.
  2. Please be civil and polite.  Please work directly with us, privately, on an individual basis. 
  3. We are a small business.  We pride ourselves in kind customer service correspondence.  We are happy to answer any questions about what we sell or any dahlia questions.  We are human, we will respond as soon as possible. 
  4. If you feel the need to post to social media and ask questions about your order received from us, refer to #2 above.  Then refer to #3 above. 
  5. If you do choose to post to social media in a way that would damage our reputation as a grower, human, business owner, or otherwise, we will block you from future purchases.  There's a good chance we are also members of the same social media dahlia communities that you may belong to.  Let's all be kind.  Reach out to any seller you choose to purchase from, not just us, to handle any of your questions or concerns directly - privately.  Thank you.



Storage Loss Before Shipping

We try to minimize any crummy emails that we might have to write to inform you that the tubers you've been anticipating didn't make it through Winter storage. 

Currently, that is why the tuber sale is late Spring so we can ensure dahlias are ready to go - no guessing if your tuber will be available for Spring shipping if you purchase in Fall, etc.

With that said, there can always be some sort of surprise.  Each variety of dahlia is different...their tuber shape, size, productivity, manner in which they store over winter...all different.  Our storage success rate is very high.  However, if we find any variety you purchased has rotted in storage, we will notify you and refund the purchase price while your other varieties will ship as expected.  If you did not order other varieties, your shipping cost will also be refunded.  Happy to work with you to provide a substitute if you wish. 



Gift Cards

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards.



Refunds

We have a 24-hour refund policy, which means you have 24 hours after the tracked delivery time to reach out to us with any concerns. It's important to open your package and inspect the contents of your order immediately.

Contact us via our online form. (I don't give out the email initially because of persistent spam bots). Send a refund inquiry, provide detail and photos within the 24-hour period.  Upon receipt of your email, we will respond, and you'll send the item(s) back to us.  We do not cover this return cost.  Once we receive the return, a refund will be issued. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return and correspondence from us depicting instructions, will not be accepted/no refund granted.  Note:  A photo is taken of every tuber before it is shipped to you.
